Originally bred as hunting dogs, these majestic animals are constant companions in my life and have been associated with royalty, warriors and noblemen for centuries.
Egyptian god of the dead, Anubis is represented as a man with a greyhound dog’s head. Depicted as a protector of graves, his role was to usher souls of the dead to safely into the afterlife.
Tutankhamen and Cleopatra’s many greyhounds were entombed and sometimes mummified with their owners to protect them on their way into royalty afterlife.
